Sherman Fernandes serves as the Managing Principal and Investment Officer with SJF Investment Management.  Sherman has over 20 years of experience in portfolio management and wealth planning providing high net worth families with objective advice that assists his clients in the management of their investment interests. His combined experience with Merrill Lynch and Citigroup Global Markets has enabled Sherman to develop personalized, strategic solutions to address the complex needs of businesses and families with substantial wealth. 

 

In 2009, during the Great Recession, driven by his entrepreneurial spirit and a vision to create a more advice centric practice Sherman established his own wealth management firm. He approaches every advisory client acting in a fiduciary capacity, which means he has a fundamental obligation to provide investment advice that always acts in his clients' best interests. But it goes beyond that, as a wealth adviser, a commitment to help clients pursue financial confidence through collective insight, wisdom, transparency, and perspective.

 

A problem-solver by nature, Sherman studies the individualized objectives of his clients, designing approaches that help address their unique requirements. He strives to create a very hands-on, personal approach within his relationships, fostering a boutique-like experience. He works closely with clients' outside advisors, including attorneys and accountants, to focus on the clients' long-term objectives. This approach has allowed for the implementation of an integrated Wealth Management strategy. Serving clients with exceptional client service and fostering lasting, personal relationships with clients.

 

Sherman obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics with a minor in Political Science from Bradley University. Sherman also holds the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) security registrations Series 7, 63 (which are held with LPL Financial), and 65 (which are held with Integrated Partners).

Sherman was born in India and raised in Zambia. At age 17, Sherman left Africa to travel and further his education eventually making America his home. Sherman resides in Rome, Georgia with his wife, Ghislaine, daughter Giana, and son Liam.  During Sherman’s free time, he enjoys teaching children financial literacy, reading autobiographies and spy novels, playing chess, cooking, travelling, and driving his classic Mercedes Benz cars.  Sherman and his family are also active members at their church, Cornerstone Church, in Rome, Georgia.
